Oxford Street

2018

Despite a court approval condition preventing any structure to be placed in the forecourt of St John’s Church, Paddington, our Client wished to have one more try at activating the space by providing a shade and shelter structure for outdoor dining. HCA proposed a minimal freestanding steel structure with retractable waterproof coloured awnings and gutter along its spine. This would have allowed a restaurant to operate from the existing below ground kitchen and brought life to the street had council officers approved it.
